the nuts and bolts of paganism.

It seems that this course is really making me think. Im taking a beginners course in wicca and im learning a lot about my self and mankind. It seems as though noone knows where we came from ,let alone where were going. the law of duality is really making sense. opposites not only repel each other ,they attract as well. this can be good as in love which is a force in itself. but can a law of nature enact itself on a force? which is stronger? which will last longer? In mans quest for self fullfillment and or acknowledgement, why does man destroy the things he needs most? the planet, each other, love and self respect? can mankind really overcome the law of duality? I dont know. all i know is that hope is eternal and the law of duality cannot change hope and cannot kill hope, only man can do that.
Love that pagan music.

I used to listen to the Beatles all the time, now i find myself interested in Enigma and Evanesence. Pink floyd kind of music for the 21st century, wouldnt you agree? I also enjoy Manowar a seriously hard rock group that is geared toward the Heathen community. But i guess my love of music stems from my youth, when they had plastic discs called records. LOL. and we played them on record players. 8 tracks hadnt even been invented yet. I can still remember some of the 45s and 33 and 1/3 speeds, can anyone remember the really thick records that ran really fast?I think they were called 88s? I used to have some but those days are gone forever. Time keeps moving and now we have these little ipod discs. LOL. They used to have those on star trek. back in the 60s and we thought they were so cool. Tell me a little bit about your child hood.
Wish we had a kindred.

Im so impatient !! I have been a member of a kindred in the past and i enjoyed it so much. then it broke up due to lack of people in it. That was 5 yrs ago. Isnt charlotte a large enough city to have a kindred? The bible belt is so frustrating, its so hard to have meetings here, and to get pagans interested. We have a group that meets in Rock hill, but these people arent interested in actually Doing anything .....no ceremonies, no rituals or anything, there just a bunch of nice people exploring there minds and hearts . I feel frustrated because ive been wanting to get together with people that want to explore and have rituals and try out the things ive only been reading about sofar. reading is fine but experience is the teacher.
Member of the Troth

I enjoy my membership in the troth, but i have to say i wish they would start there engines and get more proactive instead of reactive. More kindreds and groups would be a benefit to them. also a active presence in the radio community to get there message across. I would love to be more active in the group, but working 3rd shift kills any chance of that. Ive been pagan about 7 yrs now and am Asatru all the way, but the movement seems to be growing without a purpose or goal. If we were to pool our resources we could have some stationary bases built, like temples or something like that. Perhaps even libraries where the faithful could go to read the sagas and tales of our ancestors.

Hey Robert! I look forward to learning more about you. Are you into Runes? I realize this is probably a dumb question since you're Heathen. Anyway I made a set awhile back and have a picture of them in my photos if you want to see them. Autumn Moon |
